CSB Tools Workshop
Have you thought about how your boat's depth data could enhance global databases or local maps? Or how your hardware or software company could support CSB efforts? If so, whether you're exploring how to collect and use this data or already engaged in CSB, this workshop is for you!
Join experts from the International Hydrographic Organisation's Crowdsourced Bathymetry Working Group, along with experts/developers from the companies, nonprofits, government agencies, and academia working on CSB, for an in-depth look at CSB tools and best practices. Gain insight on how to set up a CSB effort, manage data, and create valuable products.
This two-day workshop will highlight expert presentations on CSB tools and practices, hands-on sessions with hardware and software solutions and their developers, live on-the-water demonstrations of data collection and logger installation, and a full-day developer hackathon to explore open-source CSB software through implementation of new features. If you're interested in the hands-on coding development day, you can help develop the agenda for this workshop through a GitHub discussion (also via the development links in the navigation above and below).
Co-sponsored by the International Hydrographic Organisation, the National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA), and Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), the workshop will be held at the NIWA building in Wellington, NZ on 24-25 March 2025 in conjunction with IHO CSB Working Group meeting 16.
