CSB Tools Workshop
Have you thought about how your boat's depth could enhance global databases or local maps? Or how your hardware or software company could support CSB efforts? If so, whether you're exporint how to collect and use this data or already engaged in CSB, this workshop is for you!
Building on the success of the first CSB Tools Workshop, held in Wellington, NZ, the second CSB Tools Workshop will let you join experts from the International Hydrographic Organisation's CSB Working Group, along with experts and developers from the companies, non-profits, government agencies, and academia working on CSB, for an in-depth look at CSB tools and best practices. Gain insight on how to set up a CSB effort, manage data, and create valuable producuts.
This two-day workshop is focussed on the CSB Manual being developed by the CSBWG, and will consist of a mixture of lab-based presentations on aspects of setting up a CSB effort, collecting data, quality assurance, crowd-recruitment, and product creation (agenda), and hands-on experimentation and demonstration, including logger installation and data collection on the water.
Co-sponsored by the International Hydrographic Organisation and the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping/Joint Hydrographic Center, the workshop will be held in conjunction with the International Hydrographic Organisation's CSB Working Group meeting (CSBWG17) at the Chase Ocean Engineering Lab on the University of New Hampshire's Durham Campus, 2-3 March 2026.
